Very peaceful area, ideal for relaxing with friends and family, enjoying areas of historical, scenic, wine and gastronomic interest. Close to the Passal of Aristides de Sousa Mendes, the Portuguese "Righteous" who, while Consul of Portugal in Bordeaux, saved around ten thousand Jews from the Holocaust. Cabanas de Viriato also has an important archaeological heritage, highlighting the Cimalhinhas Patrimonial Route or the Fiais/Azenha Circuit, where necropolises and ancient graves can be seen, always surrounded by a stunning natural landscape, ideal for walking, or for those who enjoy running and trekking. We are also very close to Serra da Estrela, whether for skiing in winter or for walks during summer. It is also close to several river beaches, spas, wineries and many other points of interest.
